Reasons to Buy Low-Voltage Landscape Lighting

If you are trying to decide whether or not to buy low-voltage landscape lighting, here are some reasons to decide in the affirmative. In the end, it really just boils down to two reasons. It makes good economic sense, and by choosing LED low-voltage landscape outdoor lighting you can design lighting effects with colors that are available from no other light source.

Economically speaking, it just doesn’t make any sense to choose anything other than low-voltage LED landscape lighting. LEDs last far longer than any other type of light source. In fact, for landscape lighting low-voltage purposes, LED lights are often rated to last from 30 to 40,000 hours. This is at least five times longer than any other light source.

In addition to lasting far longer, the consume far less electricity. LEDs on the average use 80% less energy than other light sources. As you might imagine this can have quite an impact on your energy bill.

On the technology front, LEDs are designed differently from other light sources. Rather than throwing out a large spectrum of many different colors of light, LEDs are designed to emit three specific wavelengths of light. This means that the colors are much more pure from LED than from other types of lights. Some are even being designed now which are capable of changing color.

There are easy to install too. Now you can just go pick up low-voltage landscape lighting kits and install them yourself. They use landscape lighting transformers which plug into house current, so there’s no worry about splicing into the house wiring. No electrician needed. If you choose to go solar it’s even simpler, since there are no wires at all.

So as I said in the beginning, there are really only two reasons for choosing low-voltage landscape lighting, you’ll save money, and be able to design incredible outdoor lighting effects.
