Electric Smoker Mac and Cheese Recipe

Doesn't this just make your mouth water?

Hey Big Granite folks.

I absolutely LOVE mac and cheese and so does my wife. So, when I came across this recipe for smoked mac and cheese I knew this was one that I had to try in my electric smoker.

Wow, I’m salivating just telling you about it!

Guess what I just decided we’re having for dinner tonight? Honey…fire up the smoker :)

I have a great smoker I got last year for Father’s Day which I typically use to make baby back ribs and brisket with. But, I just love finding new recipes to use with it. I’ve tried a bunch of different recipes for your everyday homemade mac and cheese, but this one really combined two loves: cheese and robust smokey flavor.

Where has this been all my life?

And, it is made with cheddar cheese soup. Seriously, I’d never even heard of cheddar cheese soup until I came across this recipe. But, sure enough I got to the grocery store and found Campbell’s made this stuff. It is the one thing I think really makes this recipe.

I had never thought of combining smoking with mac and cheese. I like smoking with apple wood chips because they give everything a slightly sweet, fruity smoke.I’ll tell you what, after you try this one for the first time, we have made this one again and again. We actually made a batch of this for our family Labor Day get together and it was definitely a hit!

In the video you will actually see the smoker unit that I have. It’s a Masterbuilt 30″ electric smoker. It is the smaller unit with the glass window. The guy in the video does a really good job showing you a couple of my favorite features that this unit has to offer like a built in meat thermometer and a remote control temperature control.

Yeah, it has a remote control – it’s the lazy-man’s smoker for sure!

Anyways, thought you guys would enjoy this recipe. Let me know what you think.
